Grant died 10 years ago today. I'm listening to the beautiful Things Will Change from Fireboy. |

I remember vividly when I heard that news ten years ago. Had a sense of emptiness for some days afterwards. I'm left with his wonderful musical legacy. |

Hope that his family (and Robert) are aware that there are still so many people who remember Grant and his beautiful songs. And those who have discovered his wonderful music in the last 10 years. I recently reread some of the contributions that people posted 10 years ago. An incredible outpouring of appreciation and emotion. |

On this sad day, I have made a mixtape of my ten favorite McLennan songs: Cattle & Cane Bachelor Kisses Bye Bye Pride Streets of Your Town Was There Anything I Could Do? You Won't Find It Again Thought I Was Over You Riddle in the Rain Boundary Rider Demon Days Until the Go-Betweens reformed, I always liked Grant's songs more than Robert's. Now it is about equal. I believe it was the melancholy nature of some of his songs. Part of that came from Grant but also from his love of poetry. |
