Great, but I wonder about all the different accounts on when Amanda joined the band. Here it says after the third album, and another recent article said second album. But we all know that it was after Liberty Belle, the fourth album. (I still remember the first gig I saw with Amanda in the band, at the Modern museum in Stockholm, in 1986 I think.) | ||

It looks like filming has been completed for the documentary. The director has interviewed most of the members of the band including Michael Armiger and Tim Mustapha. The premiere is set for next June at the Sydney Film Festival. The style seems like the standard talking heads documentary with some artistic touches. Most of the interviews appear to have been filmed in a vacant Queenslander residence and there are actors as the young Grant & Robert. My ideal film about the Go-Betweens would be a cross between Don't Look Back and a darker version of the Monkees set in 80's London and filmed in black and white. | ||

Austin, it's Robert, Lindy and Amanda talking about the breakup. But they are old interviews; Lindy and Robert from 2010 and Amanda from 2014. I'm pretty sure I read the 2010 interviews in Mojo at the time. The interview with Amanda looks less familiar, but presumably that comes from Mojo's back catalogue too. Top marks to Mojo for recycling. | ||

Hi Padraig and Rob, Good to know. It strikes me as strange when a magazine uses old quotes / interviews exclusively in a newly written piece. It makes me want to understand what triggers the article to be written in the first place. | ||
