The setlist for Robert's first band show for this tour has appeared. It looks like a great selection of songs from throughout his career!

Just looked at the setlist from Stockholm. Same songs in Bonn - but he did three more: "Love Is A Sign", "A Poet Walks" and "Learn To Born". The performance of "A Poet Walks" was astounding.

Hi Alexej,

you were also in Bonn!
I loved the concert.

Scott Bromley is a wonderful guitarist and the whole concert was very powerful!
Songs like (for example) Man O'Sand, Twin Layers of Lightning, Don't let him come back and In the Core of a Flame he used to play very rarely and the versions were very good!

Not only Dive for Your Memory have put a tear in my eye!

Agreed, Andreas, the guitarist was amazing - there were times when I was just looking at him thinking God I am, enjoying blistering guitar solos at a Robert Forster concert!

Yeah, "Dive For Your Memory" did that do me as well... And also "One Bird In The Sky".

A very special night in Bonn.

The munich concert was also great! Fantastic!! So so good.
Basically the same songs as in the Stockholm setlist.

I can’t believe that it has been 11 years since we last heard Robert with a band live (here in Bavaria)! It’s so good. The songs are so good live. More driven, fast, powerful. Even songs on the more recent albums that I feel indifferent to when listening to them, live I find them much better and suddenly really good!;)
Spring rain, the last time I heard this song live was with grant, adele and Glenn, on their last tour in fucking 2005, 14 years ago!!? Insane.
God I wish I could go to vienna tomorrow and linz after that because one concert with full band every 11 years is not enough.

It’s so nice they play one grant song as encore, finding you. Sad of course but fitting.

Robert is great and the band is too. Karin a goddess, so beautiful. Scott bromley fantastic, like a young grant still with hair on his head?;) sorry can’t say much about the drummer, good as well, but a special mention of the nice swedish bassist, always with a smile on his face, sending out positive vibes, I liked that.

Oh Julia I'm envious - the one song he did in Munich which he did not do in Bonn is "The Clarke Sisters", and that's my favourite thing Robert Forster has ever written...

In any case, great to read about another fantastic concert. And yeah, being at one seemed barely enough!

Setlist from last night in Bristol - very similar to Munich: 22 songs (12 Go-Betweens) on a night of musical excellence. So glad he did The Clarke Sisters - one of RF's very, very best.

Glasgow was excellent.

This may be an extra post as i don't think my earlier version submitted.

Its quite a tight rocky band, drummer looks about 10 and karin looks gorgeous on her interludes on vocals and violin.

Robert on great form, less chat, more music. A rather valedictory look at his catalogue. Great song after great song.

Man o sand, core of a flame, life has turned a page. Don't let him come back, mass singalong for surfing magazines.

Great night, sound very good where i was upstairs in a really good venue.

Bristol was terrific. So many highlights but 'Remain' and 'Twin Layers...' both stood out for me. Lucky enough to meet Robert at the end and he signed my album for me. Lovely chap and a great band. Refreshing to be at a gig with hardly anyone hiding behind a camera phone too. To almost quote one of his songs, we left there satisfied.

Superb show in Glasgow tonight.

Tight young band, Karin on violin and vocals.

Robert loving every minute and lots of love in the room, if very few younger than 50.

Great show with a bit of a valedictory air. Greatest hits type set reminding how many wonderful songs he's written.

If you can see him. Top of his game and not sure he'll do such a tour again

Last night's Dublin show was sold out. Never thought I'd see the day. Managed to secure a ticket from someone in the queue who had an extra. Set list similar if not identical to Bristol show. Great to hear "In the core of a flame" and "Twin layers of lightning" which the GB's hardly ever played live.'Man o'sand ..' also dusted off for the evening ... Some different arrangements of the classics courtesy of Scott Bromley on guitar and the bassist whose name eludes me. All in all, a very enjoyable evening. On a cautionary note: COME EARLY. Dublin kicked off at 8.22pm and was over by 10.05pm. Have fun now.

Yes Glasgow was great. St Lukes is a lovely venue too.

A friend posted a very pensive looking Robert here...https://www.blipfoto.com/entry/257621185 8679661969

Just felt that it was a slight shame that Robert didn’t really “spark” until “Learn to Burn”, with his departure from the stage towards the audience during that song.

It was quite emotional hearing Robert singing “In the Core of a Flame” and “Finding You”.

Special mention to Scott Bromley, a wonderful accompanist. Always the right thing. Very economical but perfect.

I loved Robert’s comment about “I’ll be available 4 minutes after the end at the merchandise stand. You don’t need to buy anything. I’ll sign anything...even other people’s records...Pavement, Beck whatever.”

I told him that I had come all the way from Bordeaux that morning and got a heartfelt thanks and handshake.

From Peter Walsh's Facebook back on the 14th of May

"Robert seems to think I'm kidding when I insist he include “Don't Let Him Come Back” in every set. Asking fans of The Apartments who see his show—at the lovely Union Chapel in Islington tonight—to let me know if he obliged."

He certainly played it in Glasgow...
