My cousin is a painter near Perth in WA and a while back she was talking about a good subject for an Australian portrait competition she wanted to enter: "What about Robert Forster of the Go-betweens?" I inevitably suggested."Good, strong features. Good lines. A certain irony about the mouth. A sort of cross between Shelley and Peter Cook." "I'll think about it..." she said doubtfully. Ha!!

Restrain yourself Stuart. No gloating to your cousin. After all you want to be hosted in Perth sometime soon. Robert does have a very distinctive face which has only become more so with age. I love the patterned fabric effect to his figure. I wonder if that's a regular effect for this artist.
