Thanks for that, David. I certainly provide a good example of Amanda's theory about males and their choices of music. I've gone through occasional phases of boredom with the heterosexual male's viewpoint in music, consequently favoring music from women for a while, but the great majority of the music I listen to is still by male artists.

With books I also have an overwhelmingly male-authored library. But it's also interesting to observe that the women writers I have are all American or British, with one Taiwanese exception. My Russian and French sections are exclusively written by males.

Thanks for the link, David (not in The Guardian, as I’m sure you realise). It’s a thought provoking and interesting interview. It also makes me want to check out that cafe, which is not a thought that often occurs to me.

It’s great to see The Go-Betweens women making a lot of headlines at the moment. I’m sure I’ve said this here before, but I’d love to see the two Cleopatra Wong EPs remastered and put on one CD. The four song Triple J session they did in 1992 could be added in as a bonus. If the name is new to anyone reading this, Cleopatra Wong was Amanda and Lindy.
