Hey Pete, I am a regular visitor to the chat room and you're a familiar figure yourself. I am asking if you can send me the chords for two Go-betweens classics; "Streets of your Town" and "Doo-Wop in A (Bam Boom). You see, I am a singer and I want to make my band jealous! Thank you. brook |

Hi Brook. Funny you should post today on this practically dormant tab forum as I just, as of about half an hour ago, completed my first trancription in about 4 months ("Caroline & I". . .coming soon hopefully). You can find my "Streets Of Your Town" tab by going to the home page of this site, clicking on "links" and then clicking on the "guitar tabs" writing. Your band may or may not appreciate that I've transcribed three guitar parts and the bassline, note-for-note. I'm not sure whether I wrote the chord names above the bars, however, so I apologise if you only wanted the basics. The main guitar in the song has a capo on the 3rd fret which makes naming chords difficult for me, who has a limited knowledge of chord names to begin with. As for "Doo Wop", I've haven't listened to that song much since I got the new reissues but it basically goes something like this: A F#m I was a lonely girl D E I lived in libraries A F#m I wished that things would soon D E Be going right for me A F#m D E I practised kissing on the bathroom mirror D E A F#m And every night I wished to the stars above D E That a boy would come along who I could love (Oh baby) Chorus: A F#m D E Just got over, just got over loving him A F#m D E Just got over, just got over loving him A F#m D E You rang me up A F#m D E To ask me to a club A F#m D E We talked till light D E A F#m And then you go and lose your bike D But when it comes to going home E You always leave me all alone Repeat Chorus D E Now he's back E A D E E A D E D But when it comes to going home E You always leave me all alone etc., etc. Not too thorough, I know, but I hope it helps. |

Brook, most of the chords spaces got squashed together when this appeared so obviously they're out of sync with the lyrics. Sorry about that, but I don't know how to fix it. |
