I remember being at a small club to see American Music Club in the early 90's. I was literally feet away from the band and remember being utterly mesmerised by Tim's drumming style. It was very unique and I had never seen anything like it before or since.

Sad news. I saw American Music Club back in '94 and it was a really powerful, intense show. I was particularly struck by guitarist Vudi's playing, but the whole band was quite unique and really "on" that night. The music was somehow more atmospheric, mesmerizing, and intense than on record, and yet Eitzel provided a balance of comic relief when he did things like break his mic stand and crack self-deprecating jokes in-between songs. They ended with the set with "Bad Liquor" after which bassist Danny Pearson" said with a straight face, "We're the Replacements. Good night."
