Sun Kil Moon - Young Love
absolutely drop dead gorgeous song
granted I am jetlagged and consequently a bit emotionally bare but I have wept several times listening to the album today

Sun Kil Moon is Album of the month in Uncut James. I'll give it a spin on Spotify if they have it.

Mick Harvey - Out of time man.

From the breaking bad soundtrack. Bit passengerish, but brilliant.

Rare Breed -- Go Betweens.

Specifically the version that is NOT on the SHF bonus disc (which has the tinny ugly synth) and NOT the John Peel version (though I like that one too). I think this third version was sent to me by Jeff. It's a needle drop. It's fantastic, the best version by far. The guitars are fatter sounding. The drums are gated but it's ok here. Robert sounds great. The song sounds fully realized.

Paul Buchanan - Mid Air

On YouTube, someone commenting on his performance on 'Later' asks why they feel like openly weeping after just 8 bars. His voice is incredible and so emotional.

The CD is very minimal, and there are moments when he is practically whispering. Like the King Creosote and Jon Hopkins recording ('Diamond Mine'), it requires your utmost attention.

Changed my mind. Stereolab's Speedy Car is obviously song of the day.

Great tune from some guy called Benjamin Schoo, featuring Laetitia Sadier on vocals. It was getting multiple plays on BBC6 over the last month or so, once you hear it it sticks in your brain and won't leave. French euro pop goodness!!

Listen to it here.

Je veux - Zaz

Ridiculously catchy French pop song from around two years ago, perfect for dancing round the garden to before dinner.

Don't dream it's over - Neil Finn

My wife almost fell off the sofa when this came on, since for the last twenty years we've known it as one of Roman singer-songwriter Antonello Venditti's biggest successes, Alta Marea. The royalties should have been enough to keep Neil well-stocked with pasta, anyway.
