New Who album on the way! Titles include "Buspass Blues", "My indigestion", "Sorry, son, what's that you're saying?", "Have you seen my glasses anywhere?" and "Do these Levis fit over absorbent pants?" Rock on!!

Never liked them, first handful of singles apart. Overblown, self indulgent poodle hair crap.

the Who's singles run from 1964 to 1974 is incredible! one of our greatest bands and best songwriters!
fair call on the haircut though

I absolutely love the Who's first album. It's essentially the 60s precursor to punk. The great thrill for me was its recent reissue remastered from the original 3 track tapes. I'd buy a well-curated set of similarly remastered recordings from the first 12 months or so after the first album.

Top band! I've always loved them, flaws and all. Except for Rog and his hair. And medallions. And fringe jackets. And trout farming.

Having said all that and despite Daltrey's vocals, "Love Reign O'er Me" still remains one of the most moving "rock" songs I know.

I've just finished Pete's autobiography, an interesting read. It's a shame that he has continued resurrecting the band from time to time and not just played the occasional solo acoustic performance.

"Live at Leeds" remains one of the greatest live records of all time and one of the most aggressive. Just 3 instrumentalists making that much noise. Keith Moon was unbelieveable.

"The Who Sell Out" is certainly one of the favorite albums but, aside from that and their singles, I admit to not being deeply familiar with the Who's work. I've always meant to pick up "Quadrophenia" but never have. One of these days.

Sorry, that should read "one of MY favorite albums." More coffee.

Who's Next is their best album for me. Quadrophenia is a bit prog sounding considering it's mod theme etc
