That is brilliant. The swear filter on this board would combust if I could type what I think of these cretins. Did I read the other day that this tripe was No1 in the US? Loved one of the reader comments "Yes. This band are The Wurzels without the seething sexual undercurrent." |

Having never heard of them I'll have to go visit youtube. I actually thought it was a TV show. |

I see a guy wearing a headband. I see a guy dancing as he plays his double bass. Musically this particular song "I Will Wait") is something that can made up on the fly. Written in the dressing room. They're all laughing! They're so full of joy! Is this a religious group? |

Ok, I finished the Quietus review. They DO sound like U2 unplugged. While I wouldn't cross the street to hear them I'd rather hear them than the Vocoder-enhanced kiddie records that provide the sonic wallpaper in the cheapie discount clothing stores that I always try to get away with buying my clothes at. Because I'd rather spend my money on music than clothes. So here is my rating for Mumford & Sons: I would rather hear them than Katy Perry. |

yes Randy I think they are connected to some mega-rich born again church in St Albans which a mate who came in to contact with described as being 'like Arthur Miller's the Crucible, only without any real characters.' |

That is hilarious! I wonder why they did it as Mr Agreeable though? It is more like the style of his less agreeable brother Mr Abusing. (They were both characters writing for the Melody Maker in it's 1990s glory days - created by David Stubbs as far as I can recall). Mr Abusing once referred to Phil Collins as "a cnut (anagram)". I love how they kept the Melody Maker house style of having the swear words as asterisks. (The Maker's owners did not allow them to use the proper words, which seems so quaint now). |

Randy, I was much taken by your comment about "the cheapie discount clothing stores that I always try to get away with buying my clothes at. Because I'd rather spend my money on music than clothes". The reason I was so taken with the comment is that I do that too, but I just hadn't realised it! My one exception is shirts. I do like a good, quality shirt. (Also the three suits I own were not cheap - cheap suits entirely defeat their purpose). |

Yes, a chap has to prioritise: I'm something like 1) books 2) music 3)alcohol 4)food 5) clothes |

Alcohol before food, I like it. I don't think I've ever heard Mumford & Sons at all. It's an advantage of not listening to the radio. I've heard Katy Perry quite a lot in recent years. Each time leaves me wanting less. I can still rate her above Kings Of Leon, Nickelback or The Decemberists. |
