Hole- Someone Else's Bed

The nice strummed intro had everyone sitting up bleary eyed in the bar this morning trying to guess who it was… Patti Smith? Lucinda Willams? Then I saw the Soundhound app in action for the first time… what a great invention! Ha, Courtney! Ok. Good enough for 8 am anyway.

I did a few radio programs in the '90s with two of the main guys in the Stars (separately, they were not both on at the same time). Both very nice men. One of the programs was on Liberty Belle And The Black Diamond Express.

Dusty Springfield - Di fronte all'amore

Wow, Dusty gets out the big guns for this spankingly over the top ballad for Sanremo 1965!

Courtney Barnett - History Eraser

Courtney is just massive in France !

Well OK, they just played 'History Eraser' on daytime radio...

"We drank green margaritas, danced with sweet senoritas, and we all went home as winners of a kind.
You said 'I guarantee we'll have more fun, drink till the moon becomes the sun, and in the taxi home I'll sing you a Triffids song!'"

Catherine,

I just listened to that very song a couple of days OK, but didn't pick up on the date. The lyrics are beautiful, Grant at his best.

Has anyone ever come across Grant talking about the radio session version with entirely different lyrics? The band did the same thing with "Five Words" too for a Peel session.

New Order - Age of Consent

For all the wrong reasons. Just clicked on a Dexy's video on YouTube, and 'The Age of Consent' started and then I realised that I was watching a Chanel advert. Is nothing sacred ?

The Undertones - Teenage Kicks. Inspired by seeing a preview of Good Vibrations last night. What a song. What a film.

Bob D - Tangled up in blue

Virtually woke up singing this today; and have since been trying to track down the excellently riffy electric (live?) version which I think I used to once have on tape; but no joy… where on earth does it come from?
