George Byrne, Dublin journalist, music lover, and a truly devoted Go-Betweens fan, passed away today at 57. His words are on the front of the reissued version of Tallulah. He wrote for Hot Press when I started working there in 1991 and we became friends in no small part because of our shared love of the band. That love never dimmed for either of us. He and Grant became great friends over the years, which gave George no end of joy. Can't find the words to do George justice. There was no one like him and we won't find his like again. |
