Genius. Reminds me of the best songs on his 1999 solo album, which was half great. |

Pixies - Debaser. A 1997 CD single version that is an outtake from Doolittle. I played Doolittle every day for months in 1989. I really miss wanting to do that with albums. |

It's Friday in Sydney, so time for a new song of the day. Jean-Michel Jarre & Julia Holter – These Creatures. |

Radiohead – Desert Island Disk. An acoustic(ish) folk song, suggesting they've been listening to some John Martyn. |

Laney Jones – Allston (Dance Around). A straightforward indie pop song on a not-very-straightforward indie pop album. |

Yo La Tengo - Tom Courtenay. A pop song with a ton of feedback and opaque lyrics. |

Ike Reilly - Paradise Lane. Tom Morello plays some pretty brilliant guitar on it. |

The Monkees – Birth Of An Accidental Hipster. Written by Noel Gallagher and Paul Weller. Sung by Michael Nesmith and Micky Dolenz. A gift of a song. |
