Hillary won, of course. But I don't think she hit it out of the park, and I don't think Trump looked as unhinged as he might have done. She might get a one point boost in the polls, which will be eroded by Trump saying more outrageous things between now and the next debate. I hope I'm wrong.

Brexit was our warning. We are in the Age of Stupid.

I had to live through the era of the Governator. Compared to DJT, he was a God-like statesman. But in fact he didn't know how to work with the Legislature and accomplished remarkably little in his two terms. The pull of celebrity in Movie Magazine 'Merika is irresistible.

And I hope I'm wrong.

Stick a fork in his ass, turn him over, he's done.

Saturday Night Live's take on the second debate. Gold.

Overlooked in all the praise for SNL's presidential skits is how good Kate McKinnon is as Hillary. Baldwin is great, of course, but, like Larry David doing Bernie Sanders, he's got a pretty outsized and distinctive character to play. Hillary's a tougher, less colorful nut. I think McKinnon does her perfectly.

You're right, Rob. She gets the otherness of Hillary, and portrays it very well. Like when she referred to "my human father". Baldwin's Trump is a caricature of a caricature, but McKinnon's Clinton finds a core to her that endless commentary fails to find.

Oh, and my comment above that Trump wasn't looking unhinged enough - well, he is now.

Call that a debate?!

Sheesh. The world has gone to hell in a handcart, and then some.
