Thanks for the tip on Arborist, Peter. Josh Ritter - Homecoming. I first heard in at the end of the final episode of season two of Billions on Monday. What a song. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NIHMAhIe 9es |

I've been battling a mystery illness since Friday. I decided to go to work yesterday and by the end of it I was really tapped out and depressed. On the drive home the final song pitched up by iPod's shuffle was just what I needed. Barely two minutes and then I was pulling into my driveway. Ocean Party -- Every Decision https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qn39O7dD 8Ko I only found this live version and it's amazingly close to the studio version. This group is giving me a great deal of joy. |

Randy, The band's latest song. Filmed during their recent band holiday in the U.S.A. and posted on YouTube on 17 April, 2017. I hope you feel better soon. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q0Z8poHg oXI |

Thanks Padraig, Hugh. I've gradually learned over the years that my carcass is like a set of dominoes. Last Friday I awoke incredibly sore all over my body. I had a moderate fever. My digestive system packed up, just stopped doing anything except burping for several days. I had no energy and slept a lot. It finally started to ease up the evening before I posted the Ocean Party song on here. But all the time spent sleeping and laying around meant no exercise which then started a case of sciatica which I normally avert by doing daily sit-ups while hanging upside down. (Weak abdominal muscles and spinal compression are the main causes for back problems.) So it was just one unpleasantness to the next. Thank you for the video Hugh. Among the many things about this group that I admire is its ability to do the song and get out in so little time. |

(Randy, I second Pádraig's wishes. And, as you're doing, listen to your body!) My song of the day is 'Eet' by Regina Spektor. |

Maria del mar bonet - Alenar https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zEpbENgF XZI Strange to be back in Spain, where I worked as a baby teacher many years ago. Nobody speaks English any more! All that hard work gone for nothing! Every tiny town used to have at least three schools battling for students. Or maybe, like the French, it's merely a mark of stubborn refusal. Makes tourism bloody hard work though. And the patatas bravas now come with the sauces splurged all over them rather as separate dips! Argh. Anyway, I was hoping to stock up on CD on some of the early work of this dramatic, dark-voiced Majorcan singer whose work thrilled me to bits back then, but the Last Record Shop in Salamanca had nothing by her at all, which was a shame. Back to Amazon, I guess... a package from whom actually arrived in the shop as I was browsing. I mimed shooting myself in the foot to the nice lady owner, but I'm not sure she understood me. |

Stuart, I bet her Amazon package was full of CDs she will later sell in the shop as Amazon are selling them cheaper than she can get them wholesale. |

Popsicle - Hey Princess. Swedish indie pop from 1992, with a decided New Order bent on this track. |

GB3 - Actress On A Mattress. Grant McLennan on vocals, almost certainly the last song he ever recorded. |
