Haven't seen it mentioned on here but Grant Hart died last week.

I remember reading a review of Robert playing live before IHANYG was released which said he introduced a song by saying:"this is one of Grant songs" making people think GWM and then played 2541.

I love both versions of 2541 and Candy Apple Grey in particular.

I think it got kinda mentioned in the Song of the Day thread but it's certainly worthy of its own call-out, in my opinion. I was lucky enough to see Hüsker Dü seven or eight times back in the day and Grant's deceptively poppy songs were always highlights live - it's hard to come up with a better rock and roll memory than suffering permanent hearing loss crushed in a mob of howevermany dead drunk post-teens careening back and forth to "Books About UFOs." I hope SST gets its shit together and lets someone fix up those old albums; I'm not a fidelity snob and even I find them rough going. But the dude left behind a hell of a legacy and it was nice to see the tributes. It was also a cool excuse to test out my neighbors' tolerance for the mourning rituals of an aging punk.

I missed this too. I saw Grant Hart in concert at the Exchange, Bristol in 2013. It's a small venue and I reckon there were only 70 or 80 people there. I was taking pictures, with my little digital camera, and he joked about hoping that I wasn't taking pictures for the CIA. Love the album Warehouse, with She Floated Away one of my favourite songs.
