Yes, it's a bit early, but this year has been an extraordinary one for music. It's years, maybe decades since there was such a strong 12 months for music. Putting this together, I was surprised how mellow most of it is. Maybe it's to do with getting older, or maybe it's just the music that was released this year. Probably a bit of both. Coming in at 79.37 1 Muddy Waters - Mannish Boy (Ruckus Roboticus Remix) 2 Sturgill Simpson - Last Man Standing 3 Weezer - The End Of The Game 4 The Academic - Aftertaste 5 The Zero Hour - Pop Collar Nights 6 Fontaines D.C. - Roy's Tune 7 The National - Light Years 8 Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds - Waiting For You 9 Bruce Springsteen - Sundown 10 Weyes Blood - Picture Me Better 11 The Drive Ins - Do The Yarnkin 12 The Dream Syndicate - She Turns To Flowers 13 Caoimhín Ó Raghallaigh & Thomas Bartlett - Kestrel 14 David J - Scott Walker 1996 15 Sean O'Hagan & Cathal Coughlan - Candy Clock 16 Carl Broemel & Eric Hopper - Junk 17 The Flesh Eaters - Black Temptation 18 Peter Perrett - Carousel 19 Robert Forster - Remain 20 Swervedriver - Everybody's Going Somewhere & No-One's Going Anywhere 21 Zero 7 & José González - Aurora 22 You Tell Me - No Hurry 23 The Murder Capital - How The Streets Adore Me Now |

Happy Christmas, Peter. Yes, I've heard the Lankum album on a stream. I've been looking for the CD here, without success. I'll buy it next time I'm in the northern hemisphere. Fontaines are playing here soon. Hopefully I'll be able to see them. |
