Padraig did 2019 on a CD but I thought we needed something for full albums. Here's my top 10, for what it's worth. I agree with Mr. Collins: this was a great year for music and I could throw in 20 more.

1. The Paranoid Style: A Goddamn Impossible Way of Life
2. Lana Del Rey: Norman F**king Rockwell!
3. Billie Eilish: When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?
4. 75 Dollar Bill: I Was Real
5. Todd Snider: Cash Cabin Sessions, Vol. 3
6. Rafael Saadiq: Jimmy Lee
7. Kim Gordon: No Home Record
8. Chuck Cleaver: Send Aid
9. Jeffery Lewis: Bad Wiring
10. Chance the Rapper: The Big Day

Rob, the name The Paranoid Style intrigued me (I'd never come across them before), so now I'm listening. And I'm liking it a lot. A Marked Man On A Marked Man Occasion is the first time I've ever heard an Irish rebel song done in a garage rock style. I love it!

Padraig, the Paranoid Style is terrific. I booked them for my street festival a couple years back (along with Amy Rigby) and they were a joy. The new one I love. I'm just starting to listen to that Fontaines D.C. That might've made my list with more listens.

Btw, for those interested in the origin of the band's name, as I was, it comes from this 1964 article, which is astonishingly relevant today https://harpers.org/archive/1964/11/the- paranoid-style-in-american-politics/

Attached is a kind of mellow "best of" list with the great Earl Harvin on drums for two of the albums. Any album with a large dose of retro 80's synths was left off the list.

1. Robert Forster – Inferno
2. Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds – Ghosteen
3. David Bridie – The Wisdom Line
4. Tindersticks – No Treasure but Hope
5. Mekons – Deserted
6. Joan Shelley – Like the River Loves the Sea
7 Edwyn Collins – Badbea
8. Iain Morrison – Sŕl
9. Purple Mountains – Purple Mountains
10. Rhiannon Giddens with Francesco Turrisi – There is No Other
