Still a long way away but Late Night From Glasgow ( Past Night From Glasgow ) will re-issue 'Unusual Places To Die' by The Bathers in early 2022 in recognition of its 35th anniversary. The album will be remastered / repackaged and a deluxe edition CD will also be made available ( first time on CD.)

Wow, what a wildly overdue thing! I love the first Bathers album. It always drove me crazy that I couldn't get a CD version. Thanks Hugh.

I have the vinyl. I didn't realise it was never released on CD. I presume deluxe edition means there will be extra tracks. Hopefully that's the case.

Padraig, It was originally released on vinyl on Go! Discs in 1987 which was still early days for the CD. It did not sell well and the band's next release was on Island Records so Go! Discs had no real incentive to issue it on CD. I am aware of one track recorded at the time which did not feature on the album but which appeared on a 12 inch single along with Fancy Dress and JuJu Peach and that was Yellow Buskin. I would expect it to be on deluxe edition CD. I have an MP3 ( 320kbps ) of the song if you are interested.

Hugh, yes, it’s the Go! Discs version I have, bought in Abbey Discs on Abbey St in Dublin. From the bargain bin. I think I just liked the cover and took a chance. I may have heard of the band but I definitely had never heard the music before buying the album. And yes to the mp3. Thank you.

The Bathers - Live At The CCA ( Centre For Contemporary Arts ) Glasgow, in 2016 ( music only.)

Recorded by Jimmy Smith in 2016 but the files were lost until recently when he found them again. Jimmy has more rare recordings by The Bathers than any person I know. The man is a legend and a gentleman.
