That's very funny Pádraig. Though with "disco/prog rock on Sony" in the description you're swimming uphill. One of my recent acquisitions from the other Antipode (Argentina) has been fascinating me for the past week or so. Viva Elastico's first album (2009) sounds like a lost artifact from the early 1980s. Good, innit, Pádraig? There are download options on other sites, too. I’ve also been listening to: Damon Albarn - Boiler Room: Streaming from Isolation https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vlS6GCZR 1Q0 where the lad is playing from his new magnum opus, "The Nearer the Fountain, More Pure the Stream Flows". Well, enormous brownie points for using a John Clare quote as a title, even though the work apparently is a homage to the landscape of Iceland. On a first listen, it seems to be a matter of: electronic fuzz, Damon sings something rather beautiful for a bit, more electronic fuzz, Damon sings plaintively again, further sequence of fuzz, further lovely Albarn vocalizing, etc. I’d rather have had something more lyrically orchestral in the intervals, to be honest, there doesn’t seem much to get a hook on there, but it’s still a work in progress, I hope. | ||
