Hugh, I'm glad you posted your Red, Pinks & Purples comment. I knew about the coming album but thought it was only available on vinyl. I've just ordered the CD from Bandcamp. Yay!

For some reason I'm getting Tramplini's "Maza Pacina" on your link but that works too.

Randy, The band's Bandcamp page only mentions a digital download and vinyl release but fortunately Slumberland Records ( U.S.A. ) and Tough Love Records ( U.K. ) have released it on C.D. It is probably their strongest album to date. I received my copy ( Tough Love Records ) last Thursday courtesy of Michael at Pebble Records.

I posted the first two messages on this thread and both links are working fine for me.

Spoon - The Devil & Mr Jones. What a fantastic song. No video that I can find. Just out today.

Is it a cover of the Aurelio Voltaire song, then, Pádraig?

No, but I assume there are both referencing the 1941 film The Devil and Miss Jones https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Devil_ and_Miss_Jones
rather than the 1973 film The Devil in Miss Jones https://www.rogerebert.com/reviews/the-d evil-in-miss-jones-1973

 Fai Baba – Rägeboge

No idea what it’s all about, but short, sweet and airy, like Morricone and cream.

 Tramplini - Svikas

Their one and only album, from 2011. The consistent understated quality of this group is striking.

While Hugh is far more often the source of a good find, I have to claim credit for Tramplini. I bought one of their EPs as a package-filler when I made an order for some other bands' music. I thought the song or two I checked on youtube sounded promising. Boy howdy. Two EPs and one album are all very good and there's still an earlier EP that doesn't seem to be available. Always more efficient in these matters, Hugh reports a new band for one of the main members.

I suspect this trio are probably unknown outside the U.K. but they have build up a huge following in Scotland as a result of their live shows.

A lot of Mark Lanegan music. Solo, with Screaming Trees, Queens Of The Stoneage, Soulsavers, The Gutter Twins, Isobel Campbell, PJ Harvey, Mad Season and Bomb The Bass. I'd love if there was a box set some day of all the guest vocals he did. Probably never happen.

Pádraig, the live performance of "Long Gone Day" with both Mark and Layne Staley is superb. Ive been listening to the Mad Season album "Above" from 1995. I only recently discovered it (silly me) and it also features Layne Staley's extraodinary rendition of "River Of Deceit". Interesting how Nick Cave wrote today that his favourite cover of one of his own songs was Mark Lanegan's cover of "Brompton Oratory".

I think Mark Lanegan has a similar timeless quality to Johnny Cash.
