I know this list is a month late, but hey it takes time to make these very important decisions. The Candle & The Flame - Robert Forster (still putting out quality pop songs; I am always a fan of the "less than more" sound). Mercy - John Cale (80 years old and still making good music). This Stupid World - Yo La Tengo (this one is their best CD in years). Villages - Califone Hollow - The Handsome Family Such Ferocious Beauty -Cowboy Junkies (songs by a middle-aged band about grief and loss - something I can understand). Nothing Last Forever – Teenage Fanclub (at first I was not impressed, but this one grew on me). I was lucky to see Robert with Louis in Vienna on the last date of the first leg of last year's tour. I also saw Yo La Tengo and Califone in concert in 2023. |
