Bob Dylan - What Was It You Wanted. I'm partying like it's 1989. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hNoICJ4B Xto

Lavinia Blackwall has a beautiful voice. She worked as a primary school teacher in Glasgow for a number of years.

Kirsty MacColl - A New England.

Just caught this on a BBC show rounding up some of 1985's best hits. And this is lovely.

In light of the "Reading" thread, here's my Song of the Day. Perhaps Video of the Day. Complete with Elizabeth Fraser.

I cannot remember who directed me to Felt but it was definitely someone associated with this Board and for a year or so I was all Felt all the time. As a vocalist Lawrence always struck me as a mannered version of Lou Reed. Lawrence wrote songs with titles like "All the People I Like Are Those That Are Dead" which I recommend too. I imagine Lawrence is located fairly far along the autism spectrum. In their earlier phase Felt benefitted from the ornate guitar work of Maurice Deebank after which they sported the swirling organ stylings of Martin Duffy. It's all lovely as far as I'm concerned but I definitely found Felt a hard sell to local friends here in Los Angeles. You either like them or you don't.

Like Burgers I have not gotten around to checking out Lawrence's later bands, Denim etc.
