Apologies if this has been covered previously... Can anyone confirm whether disc one (the main album) of each of those most recent remasters on JetSet benefited from a new analogue transfer and remastering job apart from the previous Beggars versions, or are they exact clones? I have the Beggars copies and have noticed that when my computer polls the CDDB, the info that comes up appears to match the JetSet edition (Disc 1 of 2, etc), which would seem to indicate an exact clone. Of course, the reason for my question is to help decide whether to shell out yet again for the back catalogue. Cheers!

I couldn't tell you the technical differences between the Beggars and Jetset editions, but the new ones do sound crisper and fuller. If I recall correctly, the consensus here was that 'Liberty Belle' and 'Tallulah' benefited the most from the remastering, but I can hear more detail and nuances in the Jetset '16LL' as well.

A side complaint about the remastered CDs, however. The Beggars Banquet albums had great liner notes; the Jetset reissue's notes vary by album, but are in my opinion at best vastly inferior to the BB notes. So, I'm hanging on to my older copies of all the albums just to keep the liner notes.

i don't know about the first three jetset/circus reissues, but the second three were definitely re-mastered, and 'tallulah' in particular sounds way better.

i agree about the great liner notes on the BB versions. the beggars reissues also had those extra fold-out inserts with lot's of cool photos. i actually kept the bonus insert from 'spring hill fair' before selling my beggars version and buying the jetset one, just because the pics in that beggars insert were so cool.

interestingly, the packaging in the first three jetset/circus reissues was strangely spare. they went to such great lenghts to replicate the original cover art that they didn't include any additional photos inside the booklets, which a lot of people here and on the tallulah list complained about.

and so oddly enough, the 2nd three jetset reissues had extra photos in spades, and even came in those nifty slipcases, which almost seemed like a response to all the complaints about the dearth of photos in the reissues of the first three albums.
