It's by someone named Michael Hansonis. I Googled his name and didn't come up with any pages in English (he's evidently German) that told me more about him, although I consistently see an album of his mentioned that includes Dylan Thomas in the title. Robert found a pretty obscure song, evidently.

The song was written by Michael hansonis from the german band "King Candy". The band was from cologne. Hansonis also played in a (german) band called "Les Immer Essen" before.

Can anyone confirm my suspicion (99.9% sure) that the line "I had a New York Girlfriend" is directly lifted from The Modern Lovers (as in Jonathon Richman &...) track "Old World" from their debut album "The Modern Lovers"?
