We caught the fantastic June 18 Troubadour show in West Hollywood and took some pics of one of our fave' bands The Go-Betweens from the audience. You can peruse a few of the images on The Dalloways Blog. Enjoy!

Thanks for the links, Gerhard. I like your band's site and will check out the music. Nice to hear there's a cool band in Fresno these days--I went to college there in the '80s and there was nothing happening musically back then.

Fresno's got a scene ripe for dreampop and other fine "music to listen to." We've got some first rate venues, and our label, Bird in Box, is working terribly hard to bring in fine acts. It's more shoegaze these days, which is fine by us!

I'd love to have the Go-Betweens up for a fine little show... :^)

Interesting to hear the word "shoegaze" again as a musical label (although I have seen "shoegazer" more often; this might be evolution of the word, or reflect a US/British Empire usage divide).

I always think of Ride as the classic shoegazer band.

The GBs are more "chinthrust" or "neckstretch" I'd say, considering Robert; or perhaps "headwave" or "trunktwist" looking at Grant's onstage posture.

Love those labels for The Go-Betweeens.

Ride is quintessential shoegaze/r. And My Bloody Valentine is probably the band those shoegaze "purists" cite most often. I don't consider myself one; I'm more a "neckstretch" purist than anything. :^)

Wow. I fled from Fresno in 1978 only coming back for the occasional brief visit to the family. I'm very glad to see something individual has taken root in the hard clay soil there. I always thought something good should come from the arty slacker scene in the Tower District but it definitely hadn't by the late 1970s.
