OK, I'm all caught up with the past catalogue re-purchases. I've got Live In London and the three re-master expanded edition CDs. If only I could find Robert's solo work after DITP on CD for cheap.

I'm ready to buy Oceans Apart. Are there various versions with different tracks on it and if so which is the best one? Also, where's the best place to buy it from?

Thanks!

I got Warm Nights from Amazon recently for £3.50,which was second hand but good quality. I really like this album desppite some of the negative comments expressed re producvtion elswhere on the message board.

You can usually find all of Robert's cds on Amazon (try Amazon U.S. if they're not available from the U.K.). You might also try E-Bay. I think R.F. is arguably the most consistently excellent songwriter of the past 25 years, in spite of some of his recent alleged comments to the contrary. I,too, like Warm Nights. It reminds me of some of those "lesser" Dylan albums that most people dismiss but still somehow refuse to go away (Planet Waves comes to mind). I also think N.Y. Girlfriend is still one of the best covers albums ever.

I picked up Warm Nights on ebay this week for a good price but cannot find NY Girlfriend anywhere.

It seems most people pan Country Phone, any comments?

I've never seen it panned, Mathias. In fact, I think it's Robert Forster's strongest solo record. Its humourous, very melodic and has a kind of country feel to it.

It also contains the song '121' which is one of the strongest songs the Go-Betweens perform in their live set.

I do love 121 quite a bit.

I'm intrigued. As they are out of print is anybody willing to upload Country Phone and NY Girlfriend until I can find them on ebay for a good price? I'm still a sucker for artwork and lyrics. Please email me.

Country Phone is a superb record Matthias. There is a small thread here somewhere about how great it is.
