My favorite cd currently. Kate sings ancient songs of the sea as well as her own written songs. Great voice. It's all acoustic, and she has a nice band backing her up. Anyone else a Kate fan? | ||

Yes, she has a great voice and writes excellent songs. She brings out the hidden beauty in the South Yorkshire accent too. Have you seen her live? Both Kate's husband John McCusker and the rest of her band are superb. | ||

James, I have not seen her live. Does shes tour the states? She just came out with a Region 2 live performance DVD. That might force me to buy an all region player. Mark, the recording quality is top notch. All the instruments and Kates voice are clear. This is my favorite folk cd since Richard and Linda Thompson were together. | ||

I saw the DVD for sale the other day. It was recorded at the Leeds City Varieties theatre last year. The theatre is a fantastic old music hall here in Leeds. If you can get hold of the DVD I would. Kate plays live a lot in the UK but I have no idea about US tours. She recently played an orchestral version of Underneath the Stars for Leeds' FUSE festival. On the same bill was Radiohead's Jonny Greenwood and Stockhausen's son! | ||
