I saw this movie a few days ago and thought it was hilarious. Pre-figuring one version of the joke; I mis-pronounced the name of the film when buying the ticket and asked for The Aristocats. Luckily, that was not on.

One person walked out in disgust, which I thought was bizarre as every single review pointed out how filthy, puerile and scatological it is.

I laughed hardest at the guy who told the joke with the aid of the playing cards. It's only playing in two cinemas in Sydney (population 4.6 million) so I don't think it's going to last very long.

Has anyone else seen it? What did you think? Was it a success in the US/ UK / Ireland?

I have a copy of the DVD sitting around at home--I haven't watched the movie yet. I'm waiting for a night when my girlfriend's not home! An old friend of mine won a competition ThinkFilms had inviting viewers to create their own short films of the Aristocrats joke. He won the animation category and got his film on the DVD release. It's the only part I've seen so far--it's fairly vulgar, but funny.

I think the movie did OK in the U.S. in the theaters, but is probably destined to be more successful in DVD rentals/sales.

Thanks for the reply Kurt. For days now I have been sweating on the potential ignominy of having no replies to a thread.

When I saw the Brisbane premiere, about 20 people walked out.

It's an extremely hilarious film... though most of the time, I felt bad for laughing at some of the jokes.

I think I sniggered twice. I'm not sure why but it didn't get me going at all - maybe I'd been expecting too much. The directing/editing made my head hurt, the joke itself isn't funny and no matter how desperately hard anyone tried to dress it up it still wasn't funny. "****-boogers" made me laugh and the mime was quite funny, mainly for the people walking behind him and giving him strange looks, but that was it for me.
