Was this re-interest kindled by Dave Eggers' article?http://www.guardian.co.uk/filmandmusic/story/0,,1695253,00.html |

no, i was listening to every conversation on the rough trade indie pop compilation that was released sometime last year and it inspired me to listen to the old singles and there are eight million stories... album again. the article is a great read though, thanks for that. |

eight million stories... - jeez i used to have that album - dunno what happened to it -probably still at my mums house. when did that come out abigail? 86/87 ish? cant remember much about it -jangly pop i think - didnt it get the much sought after 10/10 in NME? The only other album I remember getting that score was Automatic for the people which to my mind is a 6/10 REM album - compared to the first 4 albums that is! |

minutes after posting thread above just went on to Napster and lo and behold there is a June Brides compilation called Every Conversation - The Story of the June Brides. First track is - yep - In the Rain. Sounds incredibly like Josef K with violins - the vocalist (Phil Wilson?)sounds very much like Paul Haig - which is a good thing to be! |

Abigail - do you have this compilation? It seems to be 50% made up of singles, the rest are album and live tracks. memo to self - make sure you have covered everything you want to say before you hit "post message". this means everybody else does not have to read 3 separate posts when 1 would do - sorry! |

ok, 6 tracks in to the June Brides compilation and think Napster must have made some kind of mistake - this is the lost Josef K album right? |

There's going to be a compilation of Josef K tracks on Domino in the near future, similar to that of their recent Glasgow School compilation for Orange Juice. I think Domino are at the artwork stage. I don't think there'll be anything we haven't heard on some past release or another (unfortunately), but, I may be wrong, but JK did have a very limited output in their short time with us. |
