The BBC recenetly screened Sid Griffin's excellent documentary on the life and music of Gram Parsons. But has anyone managed to see the film Grand Theft Parsons? I believe its been on a very limited release at cinemas.

A recent issue of Uncut gave Grand Theft Parsons a dire review.

Imagine my surprise on reading that Gram's dad is played by Robert Forster in Grand Theft Parsons?. Of course its not THE Robert Forster, its the other one, the one from Jackie Brown and Me Myself and Irene.

I've always presumed The GBs like Gram Parsons, given their fondness for all things Byrds/Dylan/Singer/Songwriter? I'd like to hear them cover $1000 Wedding.

Great song but too dramatic for the Go-Bs. I'd like to hear them do "A song for You" off GP. I saw Yo La Tengo do it last year and it was a beaut.

Which father does the other Robert Forster play, the one who died or the wicked step-father?

Nah, the GBs should do "Brass Buttons" with Robert singing. Imagine that: very quiet performance from the band, Robert speaking the vocals ... sweet.

Actually, that'd be a perfect song for Robert.

Dave Graney's already done it, on My Life on the Plains.

I think Robert Forster (the actor) plays Gram's dead father. I agree that Brass Buttons would be good. How about about Grant and Adele doing 'Ooh La Vegas', ok maybe not.

Yeah, keep Grant away from things like "Las Vegas." He got too close to that on the weaker moments on "Horsebreaker Star."

I always have a weakness for the cornball obscurities, so I'd have Robert do "Miller's Cave." Don't think he'd want to, though.

How about Robert doing "Kiss The Children"? Grant could sing the chorus.
