All -

Some of you may know me as the list-admin of the Go-Betweens Mailing List: tallulah@discontent.com

I wanted to let you all know that my server hard-crashed on Feburary 2. I have since rebuilt the server on brand-new hardware and placed it in a colocations rack space (previously, it had been on a residential DSL line).

However, the list membership data was lost with the old hard-drive, so I have no way of contacting list members. Therefore, I'm posting here to let people know why the list has not been reachable for a month.

But not having heard or seen any posts wondering where it had gone makes me wonder if there is still a desire for such a list to exist. There seems to be a lot more con this site in terms of current and ongoing conversation - do fans feel like this is a better venue for all things GB?

I'd like to hear from all of you - I'd be equally happy to restart the mailing list or to let this message board fully replace it.

A post in this thread or an email to me (brandon@discontent.com)with your opinion would be great!

Brandon

Keep it going it's more like an unoficial MB. It's never as much fun when you've got permission.

heh..well, it's not meant to be competition at all! Tallulah was around long before I was a fan...probably for almost 10 years by now. As I mentioned, just wanted to make sure that folks were still interested in it, 'cos I'll maintain it as long as there's interest.

I'll second Jerry's support! Always a useful way of distributing those things we are not allowed to mention here. Cough.

I think it's good to have an alternative.
There must be a reason why people would choose to use Tallullah instead of posting here.

hey Brandon

I'll second the return of Tallulah ... I've posted a few times over the last month and wondered why no one replied.

Hi Brandon,
I've just read your message. Well, I'm glad to read that everything is ok with you.

I really do appreciate a restart of the tallulah mailing list as i prefer it as a more interactive communication.

Best regards,
Chris
