http://www.leonardcohenimyourman.com/ This looks a bit like No Direction Home for LC fans. BEWARE!!! The ubertwat Bono appears. Gladly so does Nick Cave & Jarvis Cocker, to balance things out. |

Exciting news, Jerr. You a fan? I am - bigtime. I'll probably end up just buying the DVD. I hardly ever even go to movies anymore at the theater - too expensive ($9-10 here)and too time-consuming. Also, too many of them suck. Curious - do you actually go out to catch concert movies? I never got around to seeing the new Neil Young one, but was gratified to hear that it's coming out on DVD next month...it seems like they've shortened the window from cinema release to DVD release... |

What a weird mixture of good names and bad. Mel Gibson? On the other hand, the McGarrigle sisters and Linda and Teddy Thompson. |

Definitely a big LC fan. He's got a brilliant line in words/phrasing. Music is always secondary to the lyrics, therefore he's never been bogged down by dodgy production, unlike Dylan. |

Mel Gibson? Sheesh...can we put him up there, along with the most hated names on the board: James Blunt, Stin', etc.... There's already one really good Cohen DVD you both are probably already familiar with: "Ladies and Gentlemen, Mr. Leonard Cohen". Great stuff...that is, if you like Cohen, and don't mind black and white. If you don't like him though, it'd probably be crushingly boring, like watching flies f___, as my brother says... |

Interesting article in Q magazine(not often those words are strung together ) about Rock Biopics, according to Q this is "Hollywoods next big thing" and the following films are in the pipeline Iggy Pop - The Passenger, starring Elijah Wood Keith Moon - See me feel me, starring Mike Myers Ian Curtis - Control, starring Sam Riley Bob Dylan - Im not there, starring various actors playing diiferent phases of Bobs life - inc Colin Farrell, Cate Blanchette, Richard Gere and Charlotte Gainsburg (yes apparently females will be playing Dylan - how quirky!!) Janis Joplin - Piece of my heart, starring Renee Zellweger Marvin Gaye - Sexual healing, starring Jesse L Martin. apparently these are all cashing in on the success of Ray, which I have saw and enjoyed, and Walk The Line which I havent saw but will eventually |

Hmmm. Films like that are almost always hagiographies. Bet they're all crap. Except maybe the Ian Curtis one because he's still a cult figure and maybe also the Dylan one with different actors/actresses playing him. Maybe that one will be set up like Dylan's "Chronicles." My favorite Rock Biopic remains the campy "Sid and Nancy." |

"Walk the Line" was excellent, Kev. Highly recommended. Renee Zellweger as Joplin? Dunno...worse is Elijah Wood as the Ig...wouldn't he need chest implants? Probably about the right height... |

I can't wait for the Go-Betweens biopic. Not sure who the stars would be. |

Verne Troyer (the actor who played Mini-Me in Austin Powers) as GM. Eric Bana as RF, with suitable eyebrow prosthetic. (Bana would also need to lay off the gym for about six months.) |

Oh yeah - there are other GoBees to cast: Martin Short as Vickers. Virginia Madsen (from the excellent Sideways) as Lindy. Adele and Glenn as themselves... |

Rats! I STILL left one out: As Willsteed, DJ Qualls, from "Hustle & Flow". Of course, he'd need a dye job and a perm. |
