Hi - I am an Aussie living in London - I've been hanging out for a Go-Betweens gig over here for quite a while so I could introduce my Pommie boyfriend to my fave band. Problem is, the gig is on during the Glastonbury weekend! Any chance the band could talk their way onto a stage at the festival or are there going to be any other gigs? I'm gutted to be missing them!

Hmmmm. Paul McCartney in a muddy field full of students or Brick Lane for a curry, a few beers, Australia's finest at the Barbican and home to a warm bed.
If it wasn't for Paul McCartney it might be a close run thing!

It's obvious they scheduled the Barbican show on the Glastonbury weekend to keep the riff raff out.

I agree Jerry, it better keep Paul Mcartney out, otherwise they have got alot to answer for. I think Eavis may have to keep the punters in this time instead of out!

Oh well, next time I guess. I haven't seen them for a couple of years and that's a long time between gigs. Glastonbury will be fun as long as I am the far end of the site from Macca and the rain gods are kind once again. It was just a distant hope that perhaps they would make it along, not all performers are listed on the program each year and I kinda hoped that this year I would hear rumours of the Go-Betweens playing in one of the off the track tents....

I'm getting ready to board a plane for my vacation this morning. First to Paris and then to London and the Barbican. So, it's from California to the U.K. to see the GoBees. As long as one of the "friends" who performs with them isn't Paul McC, I'll be very happy.
