The sun was going down and still shining on the Brixton Academy which looked like a retro version of the cover of Trompe le Monde as we strolled in. London knows how to do touts I must say, harranguing the throngs on the way from the tube. Head On was first, U-Mass second and 90 mins later I was pretty happy. Highlights were Tame, Gouge Away, No. 13 Baby, Where is My Mind and Gigantic. Same sort of list they've been doing. They almost looked teary as they went off the first time - I have never seen a crowd go off like that. The encore was 6-7 songs including Here Comes Yr Man, In Heaven, Wave of, Nimrod, ++ can't remember and Joey doing some wand work with a drum stick. Speedy, no chat, sensational band. There is talk of a new album altho don't quote me on that. Franks screams all intact. Joey cool. Kim and Frank even came close a couple of times. Just for the money - it was worth it. |
