i never heard this cd. does grant sing/write songs on it? how does it sound?

haven't seen any discussion of this cd here so i'm curious.

It is a fine album. A couple of excellent Grant songs (like Parachutes). Worth getting a copy but don't pay too much.

David, I don't think it is currently available as I have been trying to pick up a copy for at least a couple of years without success.

David, the majority of my musical purchases are made from recognised online retailers and Gemm. I must admit to being a bit wary of Ebay and have never used it. That said, I carried out a quick search this afternoon ( Co and Com ) but nothing came up.

I cannot find this album either and have been trawling ebay for the last few years. A tough one to get here in the States. I remember Grant playing a great version of Suicide at Home on guitars. Later, I got a copy of it with Robert on piano but I preferred their guitar version. And I wondered how it was recorded on the album. Are the other tracks of similar caliber?

Keep looking, there are copies out there. I got my copy from Red Eye Records last year, can't remember how much it was, certainly no more than AUS$30.
Red Eye are good (and not rip-off prices). I got a copy of Treeless Plain (Triffids) from them when you couldn't find it anywhere else in world.
Good luck - and yes! Suicide at Home is a brilliant song and a brilliant version.

David, the disc is available to purchase from the sellers site ( www.galaxymusic.com.au ) for AU$49.95 plus shipping. I don't know the ins and outs of how Ebay works but I will be surprised if he parts with it cheaply. Way too pricey for me I'm afraid but many thanks for your help.

How's this for frustrating? I actually found a copy of the FOC disc in a second-hand shop here in Melbourne. In fact, I found it on May 6, but didn't have the cash on me and of course at the time it didn't seem that important... Changed my mind about 12 hours later. Finally got back up there at the weekend, amazed to see it was still there, bought it and ... it was bust, cracked. Had to take it back.

Damn.

The FOC album is most certainly not worth $49.95, and that seller is known to be a little unreleastic with prices, considering that clearance houses (in Brisbane) have sold the FOC CD for $2 as recent as six months ago. I am almost guaranteed to see a cheap (<$15) copy of it 2nd hand almost every time I go record shopping.

My suggestion is to shop around, it's not rare by any stretch of the imagination.
