He's in a parallel universe where people have pinecones for heads and ride around playing ukuleles on friendly, colossal prawns.

Er.. or so he wishes.

No, he's actually been very swamped. He applied for, and was given, a new job position at the publishing place he works for, and has been very busy at work, which cuts down on his message board time. Activity in his social life has gone up exponentially as well. But he is alive and well, though he has a bit of a headache at the moment.

But thank you for asking, Spence!

So was the headache a result of the fact your "social life has gone up exponentially" Jeff?

Kevin - Yes! Although it was amplified by work, sadly.

I must say that it is the very amusing posts by the good humoured and witty people here that draws me back to the message board.

Jeff Whiteaker, you are one of those people.

Like several people, I didn't think that I would frequent the board after we lost Grant. However as time passed and I began to listen to the music again (which I wasn't sure that I could), I recalled those funny moments from you witty people and when I have the time I come back to the msgbd.

A long time ago I thought of starting a thread about one's favourite funny post. But usually once I contribute, the post seems to extinguish shortly after. Paranoid? Maybe. If I had the time I'd check the statistical whatever.

Maybe a "popular" contributor could do it instead!!

Anyway, I just thought of one which was from Guy Ewald which was at the time when we (me twice) complained about the rumbling noise on Oceans Apart.

"I’ll be curious to see if they jam a drumstick into Adele’s bass amp halfway through the set to achieve that authentic ‘Ocean’s Apart’ sound ;) Guy Ewald"

Apologies to Guy if I shouldn't quote you now, but I did laugh at the time!

Where is the author of this thread? Off on a sell out world tour? Hard at work in the studio?
Stuck in Heathrow Airport? Caravanning (is that a word?) with the family?
I think we should be told!

spence - what do you think of the new shack? i think it's patchy, but that there are a few really stellar tracks. i think that song shelley brown is absolutely beautiful, and i dig miles away, funny things, and a few others.

also - check your mail - a cd should materialize there fairly soon.

Jeff, I really like it. Its a slow burner I'll grant you, but its the simplicity again, that I like. Its growing all the time. Cup of tea is brilliant. The line "bike and bike in front of me" its worth the outlay for that line alone. I saw Shack 3 years ago in Birmingham. They were awesome. A very quiet but powerful band. Miccch Head is like reaching new better ground in many ways, however, HMS Fable should have made them Zilliions...Still love Pacific Street, it remoinds me of being 14 and everything in the world was FAB! I once sent a copy of Thankyou 7'' to retain a girlfriend...I failed. If it had been years later I could of sent her a Jimmy Nail 7'', Love don't live here anymore, that would of been more apt..."Wahay mon!!" Apologies to overseas msg boarders!
