On the night of Tuesday, August 24 can everyone please think happy thoughts about my football team, Shelbourne FC. They are playing Deportivo La Coruna that night, with the winner going through to the Champions League. It would be the first time for an Irish team if Shels win, so be positive. With your help we can defeat the Spanish hordes! I am possibly the only person in the world who frequents both the Go-Betweens and Shels message boards, though I used to know Shamrock Rovers and Waterford City fans who were Go-Betweens fans. Sorry, this has nothing at all to do with music, but the site seems to have become a lawn bowling/ lit crit blog lately anyway. I only put the band's name in the subject line to draw people into the thread! | ||

Is it right that Deportivo only managed to bring an away following of 8 to the first leg. PS Good Luck (you'll need it) -are you going to the away game - Santiago de Compostela is a great place to stay. | ||

Only eight of them came with their official club tour. There are loads of young Spanish in Dublin though. A few of them went along to shout for Deportivo. Unfortuanately I will not be in la Coruna for the match as I now live in Sydney. If Shels beat them I will have to go to Dublin for a CL match though. | ||

Thanks C Gull. Nice win over Merchandise Utd at the weekend. I know a guy who is a Steely Dan and Chelsea fanatic. I share his love for the Dan, if not the Blues. | ||
