Story from today's Northern Territory News. Poms get cheap fare WARM up the beer -- the Poms are coming. The NT Government yesterday secured a $750 one-way fare for Brits travelling from London to Darwin. Tourists will fly Gulf Air to Singapore and then Tiger Airways to the Territory. The NT Government deal is with STA Travel and the airfare includes taxes. Tourism Minister Paul Henderson said the cheap flights would allow Tourism NT's London office to orchestrate a $40,000 promotional campaign, which will include advertising on board London's red buses. Britain is the Territory's largest international market for backpackers. |

BTW $750 is around 300 pounds UK (for a one way fare). Darwin is a long way from anywhere else in Australia and can be very expensive to fly into and out of, but it's an option. |

Cheers for the info Padraig. all price options will be considered once we get Christmas and New Year out of the way. then we can sit down and see how much money we actually have, and whether the OZ holiday happens in 2007 or 2008. |

Didn't God try to wipe Darwin off the map about 30 years ago? Don't you people in Oz take a hint? |
