Thanks Spence. It's great, looks like really early Amanda. The band is totally cooking here. |

I'm surprised no one has pointed this out, but Grant looks positively dapper in this clip. I believe what he's wearing may be properly termed a sport coat. After watching this, I clicked on the "Easy Come, Easy Go" video, which I'd never seen before either. Apparently, the OGWT experience didn't agree with him 'cause he's back to the baseball cap/t-shirt combo. Very funny. |

Niiiiice. Nice to see 'Manda playin' on that song...she looks like she still had one foot in the classical world...Robert's eyebrows, as always, should receive top billing... |

That's probably the best looking/sounding clip I've seen of the '80s GoBs actually playing live, not just miming. Great stuff! |

More of the remarkable Mark 1 on the tele! I hope by next xmas we'll get a DVD with all of this neat stuff on it. I love Lindy's fills. |

What a great way to liven up a fairly dreary morning! But did Forster actually grow those eyebrows? Looks more like two small alien creatures have taken up residence there. Lets hope he donates them to science, anyway. |

His eyebrows should have had a solo career. Still could. I have never seen 'Apology Accepted' which I think was the second song that they played (for some reason the repeat of the program later on in the week had another G-Bs song). Anyone got that? |

Robert's also wearing fantastic trousers (I never though I'd write that line) - the same ones he was wearing, I think, when I saw them at the University of Warwick (1986 or 1987). |

Very nice. I'm no sound-head. But is RV turned up to 11? Fan of The Ox, perhaps? |

Great stuff! It's been a long time since I've seen that...think my brother taped a football match over his copy. Is it just my imagination or does Amanda look quite relieved at the innocent finish of the 'open the window for the neighbours to see her...' phrase. 'Wow, thank goodness he didn't do the deviant sexual version live on British TV'... Also do Robert and Grant seem to be almost breaking into a Shadows style synchronised dance routine in the last few seconds? Or maybe I've just drunk a little too much red wine tonight. |

Wow, I'd never seen that before. That is stunning! Perhaps the best video of a live performance I've ever seen of them. Just awesome. Thanks for posting that link! |

I think I like this version better than the original...something about the way Grant and Robert's voices sound together on the "all waiting's up" section - though it's not exactly harmony, because they're singing more or less the exact same thing, you hear something of their affinity for each other, their brotherly bond, if you will...at least I do |

I had that show recorded on VHS, and a few years ago I spent a lot of time trying to find the tape, only for it to snap as soon as I pressed play. |

Thanks for posting that Spence. Showing my age here, but I remember watching that performance on The Old Grey Whistle Test on the night it was broadcast, the other song they played was Apology Accepted. The next time I saw that clip was over 10 years ago now, it was on a VHS tape my friend has of Go - Betweens, REM and Ramones TV clips. Youtube is great, but part of me hankers after that time when to see the performances on that tape was like manna from heaven, knowing you might never see it again. |
