The latest edition of MOJO magazine features Robert's assessment of Bob Dylan's 1997 album. It's typically well-written; authoritative, knowledgeable with all the trademark reference-points and insights.

Thanks Pat. Will pick it up in Heathrow or Shannon on Christmas eve.

something I really like/appreciate about Robert is that he's still really passionate about new music. (As well - obviously - as old music.) I have to wonder how long ago it would have been since Sting or Phil Collins bought a new album? Robert often talks up bands (Belle & Sebastian, Grandaddy, Augie March) in interviews I've read with him over the last eight or so years since I've been a fan. The fact he's still passionate about music is very endearing.

Grant did too. He recommended Sleepy Jackson to me in early 2002. It was the first I'd ever heard of them. I later told Luke Steele (who is Sleepy Jackson) about this and he seemed genuinely delighted. He had discovered The Go-Betweens through hearing The Clock!
