Fantastic, did you film it yourself? Its quite good quality. How was the rest of the gig?
Here is another version of Wings (Brix era) from Youtube, the sound is pretty good but the guy filming it was obviously jumping up and down with excitement.
Wings is their finest (of many)songs imo

Yes thats great too and must be about the same time (85) I remember them playing it at Leeds Poly.
Every time I see The Fall I think would n't it be wonderful if they played Wings, on Friday the band came on first and launched into that unmistakeable grating guitar riff - I thought this is a piss take no way will they play it - just a guitar intro. Then MES entered and ripped into it and it sounded great.
I did n't make the recording - the sound is impressive though.
Rest of the gig was very strong, the new line up seem to have cracked it after a shakey start earlier in the week. MES seems very committed at the moment. Some good sounding new songs, Hungry Freaks Daddy and Fall Sound were stand outs for me.
In a way I'm kind of bored with What About Us andd Sparta FC but they both still sounded great live. No Blindness though.
I agree with you on Wings certainly in my top 5 Fall songs with The Classical, Man Whose Head Expanded, Blindness and Kicker Conspiracy.

I thought this thread was going to be about Steve Hanley and Craig Scanlon coming back to The Fall!

....if only
