It's very good, it sounds very relaxed and friendly, 'cattle and cane' is brilliant as is 'bow down' and 'bye bye pride'.
There is also some light banter with Deirdre, who I believe has since passed away, she seems to be in awe of the band and overpraises at every opportunity.

It's a collection of Radio Sessions recorded for (the late) Deirdre O'Donoghue's radio show in 1987 and 1988. Some of it is fascinating, some of it isn't. My personal favourites include a superb version of 'I just get caught out' (complete with Robert getting his lines mixed-up) and 'Twin Layers of Lightning'. There is also a faster-then-usual version of 'Right Here' which, for me anyway, got less interesting with each listen.

Overall, a worthwhile investment.

Sounds excellent. I know Mark's gone but his ghost still haunts these hallowed halls, so I have to ask - is it a 'legal' (my quotes) release. If it is , are there any others available

the 'Live on snap' cd was originally a giveaway with 'Bellavista terrace' when purchased from Beggars banquet mail order, so you can listen without fear of armed raids.

I think it's a really good release although i favour the acoustic tracks over the band stuff. There are great versions of 'Quiet Heart and 'Rock n Roll Friend' which alone are worth buying it for. The host is a little fawning but in an age of increasing cynicism its nice to hear someone genuinely enjoying and praising the music they're listening to. Both band and Deirdre seem to get long well too. I wish they would release more of these radio sessions - there must be more from around the world that they could cobble together. I remmber hearing some good Robert Forster tracks on the Richard Skinner (showing my age there...) and Mark Radcliffe shows on the BBC. Empty the archives guys!
