I had the good fortune to see Mikey Dread support The Clash in Edinburgh in 1980 on the London Calling tour. His albums Dread at the Controls, African Anthem and World War 3 are essential innovative reggae albums. It seems like hardly a couple of months go by without some reggae legend dying, recent deaths include Joseph Hill of Culture and Joe Gibbs the producer.
