Hi all, For those who are in Brisbane, Queensland, we are very pleased to announce that we will be featuring Robert Forster's New Album, The Evangelist at our Club. Atmosphere - Black Planet. We are a Gothic Nightclub in Brisbane and we play everything from Goth, Manchester and Punk to Swamp, Oz Garage Rock, 80s and Brit Pop. Details are: Where: The Emerald Bar, Pavilion, 123 Boundary St., West End. When: Saturday, 26 April, 2008 Time: 8pm; Cost: $8; No ID, No Entry. A message from the DJ: It is with great pleasure that I welcome you all to Atmosphere III. It is not often that I write about our clubs in this way but with this club I have to make an exception. Thanks to the alignment of the planets or the fortitude of the gods or just pure fluke, we have been given the pleasure of presenting two of the most influential bands of the last 2 decades in one night plus our usual mix of Gothic, Punk, Manchester, Swamp, 80’s, and anything else we can fit into a night. Thanks to EMI music we have been given the privilege to present the album launch of the new Robert Forster Album, The Evangelist. The Evangelist is Robert’s first solo project in 11 years and the first since the sad passing of Grant McLennan in 2006. We also have copies of the DVD That Striped Sunlight Sound the last recording of the Go-Betweens live in concert at the Tivoli to complement the album. Plus thanks to Madman we will be reliving our first club at the Emerald Bar with giveaways of the Bio pick Control The Life of Ian Curtis. These two bands have been a mainstay of my music collection for the last 20 years and I am personally looking forward to presenting these bands and much more on 26 April, at the next Atmosphere. J. We hope to see you there on this special night of dancing, reminiscing and fun. e,j,o. :-) |
