Which male band member is pictured on the BACK cover of 16 Lovers Lane? Is it Robert, or is it (as I suspect) John Wilsteed?

Didn't I read in DN's book that JW designed the 16LL cover himself ??

So that's really Wilsteed on the cover and not Forster? Never occurred to me it might be anyone but Forster. How strange.

Yes yes JW designed cover, that's why Forster is on the back. For Gods sake Robert is a cape wearing sort of guy.

Robert is indeed a cape-wearing kind of guy, as evidenced by the fine photo in this page:

Prüfstand 7

Actually, I've asked about this before: has anyone seen this movie or heard Robert's song "rocketsong"? Apparently, the song is based on ideas from Thomas Pynchon's "Gravity's rainbow".

That's brilliant, Cuchli. He's such a hopeless romantic - anyone who's seen the Australian clip for "Streets Of Your Town" will remember the way he managed to wander the streets of major Australian cities in the cape and make it work.
I'd love to hear that track, too. Oh, and that webpage uses the priceless (and very German) term "reunification" for the 2000 reunion of RF and GM.

Roger it's Cichli as in Cichli Suite, we love the name. Yes he was wandering the streets carrying a copy of one of my books on or by Marat Sade if I recall. It was just a stage I was going through. Prefer Celine or Henry Miller actually.

What exactly is "Hand Lettering"? I mean, Amanda Brown tried out the lettering for "Sixteen Lovers Lane", and how exactly is it done?

I was watching an episode of Seinfeld recently and one of the plotlines involves a cape-wearing Larry David..

Capes!!! There was one notable concert in London in the 80's (Town and Country Club?), when RF came on wearing a cape (tartan I think fashion spotters). At the end of the first song a roadie came onto the stage and carefully removed it. At the time I thought it was a hommage to the famous James Brown routine. But I could be mistaken. Maybe the wearing of ballgowns amongst the male member of the band should be another thread?
