Hey, wondering if there was ever any word on whether Milky had to or did pay the band any $$$ for sampling "Streets of Your Town" for the song "Just The Way You Are." |

As far as I can recall, Robert said that they got nothing as it was not a sample, it was someone else playing the same chords. They still should have paid The Go-Betweens and credited them as co-writers, but they did not. It's a similar story with some regional TV station which uses a version of Streets re-recorded by session musicians. |

Wrong, it was a sample. Robert and Grant are now deemed to be songwriters along with Paul McCartney and the two guys who originally sampled Streets. In relation to the sound recording the deal is still being negotiated. |

Finally, McCartney achieves his (semi)lifelong ambition of a collaboration with Forster and McLennan! |

OK, I was wrong then. I must be mixing up what Robert said about the TV station rip-off with the situation re Milky. I do have that Milky single though, and there is no credit given to the sample anywhere, which is an absolute disgrace. |
