One of my personal faves, he had a kind face.

A good innings I suppose, RIP Mr ~Paul.

Also did a fair amount of charity work.
In a world were anyone half decent is called a legend, here's one who really deserved the title.

Cheers

In a world were every Tom, Dick and Harry are called it, here's a true legend. Did a fair amount of charity work as well.

Cheers

Apologies...
I don't know how I've posted twice (well I thought the 1st one got 'cancelled' somehow).

Nice to see I typed it slightly different the 2nd time round.

Apologies again.
Cheers
Jon

One of the last, great true movie stars. I just watched "Cool Hand Luke" a few weeks ago - what a staggeringly great work!

Plus, his salad dressings and spaghetti sauces are fantastic!

That's a shame. He was a real actor, real charm, looks, the lot. He also got better as he got older. :-(
Lets not forget his fine vinaigrette dressings also. :-)

A class act all the way 'round. For me, he's kind of the archetype of how one should behave when given the gifts of fame, wealth and privilege.

Quite bizarrely, at about the time he died, I was having a discussion with someone who works with deaf children about how her charity recently got $30,000 from the Newman Foundation.

What a man. What an actor.

I like the way he thumbed his nose at the Hollywood life style and fame and chose instead to live in Conneticut with Joanne and raise his family there without all the hoopla. A true philanthropist, great actor, race car driver and family man.

According to one obiturary, the most generous American public figure of the 20th century, calculated by the proportion of his income given away. Also he was apparently also extremely proud to be on Nixon's list of his 20 most hated people !

Dunno if there's a thing I can add to these well-worded tributes, except to say Hear Hear. They certainly beat the banner headline I saw when I went to get my email at Yahoo: "Everything he did was the epitome of cool." Yep, that's the important thing...*sigh*
