Does anyone know where Ebensee is (any Austian fans, or simply highly educated geographywise?), i.e. how far is it from Vienna: I'm considering going to that gig as well, since I'm going to the Vienna one, but can't seem to find it in my atlas. Hence my only conclusion is that it's a very small city/town, but that doesn't help me much. Thanks. |

Ebensee is 253 km west of Vienna (2h 40 by car) with viamichelin. www.viamichelin.fr |

Im sure that there are many austrians who dont know exactly where Ebensee is located. Because its a small not so touristic (no disadvantage)city on the Traunsee (Upper austria). I know also the munich location - its much bigger than the cinema Ebensee. But the cinema is cooler - in my opinion. www.kino-ebensee.at So CU there Wolfgang Linz / Upper Austria P.S: I still dont know where U live.... |

Munich has won over after all, it seems. I'm from Zadar, btw, a little shithole on Croatian coast. |

hey dajana, i'm reading this too late, but you should've definitly gone to ebensee for the gig. i am from vienna and after i had missed the gig in my hometown in 2003, me & my girlfriend drove those 253 km's to see them at the KINO EBENSEE, a place that we didn't know before. we turned it into a weekend trip, and it was worth every drop of fuel: great venue, small but cool, and the crowd really got into it there. the area around there is really nice, too, especially in summertime. how was the munich gig, by the way? |

alex, the munich gig was also fantastic (--> own thread) - seems like every concert on this tour is purely magic, no low evening for the Go-Betweens! ;) I stayed in gmunden at the thomas-bernhard-archive august and september of last year , and I have to agree, the area around Lake Traun is beautiful. Ebensee is the town furthest down the lake (it has also been the site of a minor concentration camp, there's a museum now I think), and I went down there once during my stay, but couldn't find the Kino!! ;) |
