Charles it was magnificent wasn't it. The song was "Some Velvet Morning" written by the late great Lee Hazlewood. The 2 parts of the song- one male and other female ("phaedra?) were done brillinatly weren't they. I agree Amanda voice is still great. |

Wonderful, both songs. Think I have to agree with one poster on YouTube for 'Some Velvet Morning', "better than the original". Amanda looks and sounds gorgeous. And what advice for someone who knows nothing about Augie March (apart from Randy's recent postings!) please ? |

WOW! That was EALLY GREAT!!! And I COULD have recorded it - I'd just finished watching the new Batman movie and was going to turn over to SBS! Do SBS have reruns of Rockwiz? I DO know that they do albums of the stuff they have recorded. This year's would be pretty good -earlier in the year, Steve Kilbey did "Streets of your town" with Sophie Koh (who was the support for the Go Bees in 2005 when I saw them) and also a GREAT version of "Almost with you". The Rockwiz band are quality. Andrew, just get as much Augie March as you can. You're gonna luv 'em! |

I was wondering, who's IN the Rockwiz band? They were all middle-aged guys and I wondered whether they might have interesting histories. |

Got an email earlier in the week from Chris Hogan, the guy who put up the youtube clips of Amanda and Glenn. Unfortunately, I hadn't checked my messages until just now. He kindly sent me a link to last week's show. Unfortunately, the link will only work until the next episode is aired on SBS, which I figure is about 11 or 12 hours from now!!! I'm loading it right now... http://www.sbs.com.au/rockwiz/watch/700/ RocKwiz-Episode-84---Amanda-Brown-and-Gl enn-Richards |

That was pretty fun to watch. I would be terrible on that show; I'm way too slow to pull the answer out of the mental muck. Amanda & Glenn do such a great version of "Some Velvet Morning." |

Glad you enjoyed it, Randy! I've downloaded the show, and have been trying to burn it to disc, but the bloody software won't load for me! I'm practicing on the virtual Rockwiz game online, just in case I ever get the chance. I scored @ 3000 in one game! (Last game, I scored zero, because I didn't bank...) |

That link is still working, for anyone who wants to see the show. Not sure for how much longer, though. |

Thanks Catherine. She sounds great. Great backing music. She still looks gorgeous too. This show reminds me of the type of music show/slot you would get in the States. Yo haven't got that here. i suppose you have Joolz Holland over here. That's not bad, I would hate to lose it, even though it can be a patronising sort of a show. The rest of the shows are just shows that show off the ego's of our youthful TV/Radio presenters. None of which have personalities, i would recall in a month's time let alone 5 years down the road. |

well spence, we have the tacky, much more popular version in "spicks and specks" too. i shouldn't dislike it so much...but i don't understand why it rates so well. i don't believe the majority of people actually listen to music, but they all tune in to watch other people talk about it. i guess it's not so different from the whole idol phenomenon. the performers themselves get universally panned/long forgotten, but millions of people watch tackly schlubs get up and "belt out" abridged versions of their hits. the mind baffles. bah humbug! |

Does anyone know the title of the song Amanda sings at the beginning of the show? |
